Active edge concept

I created this Android feature concept to be used in Zebra smart devices. The aim was to make the devices easier to use by placing most used features on the side bars. The left and right menus can be same or different depending on the needs of the end user.

Barcode scanning is an action that is mainly triggered by physical keys on Zebra devices. On the software side, you have to open an application and select the scan action. Finding the right app can be tricky as this may lead to inefficiency.

We wanted to create shortcut areas on both sides for frequently used actions and applications on our new smart devices, TC51 and TC56. These "active edge"s would help the user to access and finish their tasks sooner. I have placed a drawer style navigation to these active edges as a proof of concept.
